Heroic Memory

The Vittoriale degli Italiani

The Vittoriale degli Italiani is a complex of buildings, streets, squares, an open-air theater, gardens, and watercourses built at the will of Gabriele d’Annunzio. The famous poet and patriot from Abruzzo, after staying in Gardone Riviera and falling in love with the view of Lake Garda, decided to purchase the property where the Vittoriale now stands and transform it into a monument to his extraordinary life and to the Italian people during World War I. Inside, there is the “D’Annunzio Segreto” museum, which houses personal, daily, and intimate items of the poet.

Pearl of the Garda

Sirmione: from the Caves of Catullus to the Scaliger Castle

Located on a narrow peninsula, Sirmione extends for about 4 km from the southern shore of Lake Garda, offering an incomparable panorama. Known by all as “the pearl of the islands and peninsulas” thanks to Catullus, Sirmione is the most famous location on Lake Garda. In addition to hosting an internationally renowned thermal center, it offers a rich historical and artistic heritage, which includes the archaeological site of the Grotte di Catullo and the Rocca Scaligera. The historic center is also characterized by narrow streets with stone walls, providing visitors with romantic and picturesque glimpses.

Art and History

MUSA: Museum of Salò

MUSA is an Italian civic museum of modern and contemporary art, located in Salò, about 10 minutes from the Hotel.

Salò is a small gem that hides many beauties at every corner: from the 15th-century Duomo di Sant’Annunziata, to the alleys of the historic center, to the magical atmosphere of the lakeside with shops, restaurants, and charming bars.

Wines of Garda

FOOD AND WINE TRADITION

The Valtenesi, an area on the western shore of Lake Garda, offers a rich food and wine tradition. First among them is Chiaretto, also known as “wine of one night,” a renowned rosé wine from our territory, characterized by a light almond-scented bouquet. We also mention Groppello, a red wine from Lake Garda known for its adaptability to local cuisine. Last but not least, Lugana is the most internationally recognized white wine from the region. Thanks to its elegance and freshness, it is perfect as an aperitif and as an accompaniment to appetizers and typical fish dishes.

Precious Oil

GARDA OIL, A PRODUCT OF EXCELLENCE

The olive tree, with its fascinating shapes and silver leaves, is the defining element of the unforgettable landscapes of Lake Garda. Thanks to the favorable Mediterranean microclimate of the area, it produces the northernmost olive oil in the world, considered one of the best in Italy. The organoleptic characteristics of Garda DOP Extra Virgin Olive Oil are its low acidity and green-gold color, from intense to pronounced, due to the high chlorophyll content. On Lake Garda, there are primarily two varieties: Casaliva, an indigenous cultivar grown exclusively on Lake Garda, and the Leccino variety.
